Alaior
Alaior is a municipality in Menorca that is located on a small hill and has beautiful views from the highest points of the island. One of them is Munt d'Àngel, a beautiful viewpoint to enjoy the green Minorcan landscape. It is an inland town surrounded by mountains and with a natural environment of great beauty. It is of great tourist interest to visit Son bou and Calan Porter.
Vacation destination for national and international clients. Lucas Fox offers an excellent selection of properties in Camí d'en Kane, La Argentina, including country houses and rustic fincas, as well as beachfront villas in
Son Bou and Calan Porter.
The charming town center, with the recently restored church of Santa Eulàlia, being one of the most visited in Menorca. Next to it the small Des Fossar square surrounded by some terraces and bars. Son bou beach, which is the longest in Menorca, 3 km long, with fine white sand. The tourist area of Calan Porter in the south of the island, which is located between two cliffs and prevents the entry of waves, becomes an ideal pool for families. And finally, the most outstanding talayotic monuments in the municipality of Alaior are the Cales Coves necropolis and the talayotic settlements of Torralba d'en Salort and Torre d'en Galmés, one of the largest and best preserved prehistoric sites in Menorca.
Alaior had traditionally been an agricultural and livestock town, preserving the sector of processed products such as the Coinga cooperative. Now, however, it is in reality an industrial and service company and whose sectors
most of the island's gross domestic product comes from. As a production center would be the artisan shoemaker and the hinge metallurgical industry. In addition, it can also be considered a university city, since it is the extension of the
University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
