El Paraiso located on The New Golden Mile, as its name suggests, is a pleasant and quiet residential area situated in the municipality of Estepona. Only 10 minutes from Marbella and Estepona town and less than 40 minutes' drive from both airports (Malaga and Gibraltar). The distinguished suburban area of El Paraiso began to be built in the 70s around the golf course by the same name. Since then, it has grown steadily to become one of the most prestigious residential areas on the Costa del Sol.

The area lies about 10 minutes drive from the center of Benahavis and less than five minutes from San Pedro de Alcántara, and can be easily reached via various exits along the A7 coast road. El Paraiso is home not only to the Gary Player-designed El Paraiso Golf Club, one of the Costa del Sol's best-loved championship courses but also to both the Paraiso and Benavista Country Clubs.

El Paraiso is divided into 3 areas: Paraiso Alto Benahavis (the highest area), Paraiso Medio (the area in the centre closest to the golf course), and Paraiso Barronal (beachside).

The minimal construction of the area provides its owners with complete tranquillity. Their private residences can enjoy stunning views and private gardens vary in design and size as reflected in prices. The area started primarily as a British area though now it is home to a cosmopolitan array of residents. Its reasonable prices and unique characteristics remain an attractive draw to property purchasers and was even once home to Prince.

Home to the famous El Paraiso Hotel and one of the most established 18-hole golf courses on the coast, El Paraiso Golf, designed by Gary Player, offers year-round facilities for residents and is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Strict building regulations have ensured that it remains a low-density residential area and the ease of living here is complemented by all the amenities such as a shopping centre with restaurants, shops, cafes and all the services you could wish for, as well as several international schools nearby.
