In the 15th century, the Scala Dei Carthusians bought various towns and lands in what is now Baix Priorat. They decided to build this vast country house for agricultural and wine-growing purposes, whose high-quality production was destined to supply the Charterhouse. The climatic conditions, combined with the quality of the slate floor and a relief with gentle hills, led to the name of this country house La Perla del Priorat and it also became a place of meditation and rest for the elderly monks of the community.

The building is made up of the old country house, with rooms for leisure and bedrooms for guests, arranged around a large central patio with a swimming pool and a beautiful garden that give a unique meaning to this spectacular country house. It has 12 independent bedrooms, with private bathrooms, some of them designed as apartments, which include a private living room and kitchen. The main country house is distributed over three floors: one for dining rooms and leisure; the first floor, a wonderful complete property ; and on the second floor, an open space with sloping ceilings in loft format.

It is worth noting the spectacular views from the entire building of the surrounding land, the region, the urban area of El Molar, the municipality to which the building belongs, and the well-known Sierra del Montsant, a protected natural park that presides over this rich wine-producing land of the Priorat. The complex has its own wine cellar adjacent to the main enclosure. This is adapted to the new oenological technologies and develops its activity through external exploitation. We also find another historic wine cellar enabled for visits and tastings of the precious Priorat wine. The construction of this singular country house and wine cellar occupies an area of 3,377 m², surrounded by 81 hectares of land, 20 with vineyards and the rest with pine forests and large hundred-year-old olive trees. In addition, it offers other constructions such as maintenance areas , warehouses and two smaller houses and in different states of conservation, available but not accounted for in the previous area.
