Lucas Fox opens Property Lounge in Nueva Andalucía, Marbella

Lucas International Properties has opened its 6th Property Lounge, in the key region of Marbella on the Costa del Sol.

Located in the upmarket district of Nueva Andalucía, the Lounge will be home to its 6 staff including Lucas Fox Marbella Director & Partner.

“Since its inception in 2010, Lucas Fox Marbella has grown to become an integral part of the business as a whole,” comments Mr Lahiri. “We are seeing increasing numbers of buyers year on year, a greater number of transactions and growing demand for both new and re-sale properties. Our new Property Lounge reflects the need to accommodate this trend in both a professional and personalised manner.”

Recent market reports produced by Lucas Fox show an interesting number of trends in this ever-popular region of Spain. In the province of  Málaga (which includes Marbella) the first half of 2015 saw a total of 11,556 property sales transactions, with steady levels of sales throughout the half-year, compared with the drop-and-recovery in transactions seen in the Spanish market overall.

Sales of prime market properties continue to be buoyant – transactions more than doubled in the final two quarters of 2014 (147 properties sold) compared to the first half of 2014 and nearly three times as many were sold more compared to the same period in 2013. During the whole of 2014, sales of prime properties (above €900,000) in Marbella represented nearly 11% of all sales high end properties sold in Spain during 2014.

“We expect to see continued increases in levels of trading throughout the Marbella region in the foreseeable future,” continues Mr Lahiri. “The market mix is much more diverse than it was 10 years ago with buyers now coming from as far afield as the U.S, Middle East and Asia, as well as traditional Northern European countries such as Holland, Sweden and Belgium. At the higher end of the market there seems to be increasing interest from buyers wanting to disperse their property investment in alternative locations such as Marbella, a trend we expect to continue.”
