Houses and apartments for sale in San José, Ibiza
Lucas Fox offers a range of luxury properties for sale in San José, including apartments, country villas, golf properties and plots with building permits in place.
San José, in the south of Ibiza, is located some 17km from Ibiza Town and 10km from the island's airport. It offers a slower paced, more traditional lifestyle among the stunning natural beauty of inland Ibiza.
The traditional, whitewashed village of San José is first and foremost a real town, where locals go about their daily life. It is not a tourist centre and, for many, this is precisely its charm. Far removed from the world-famous party scene hot spots that much of Ibiza is famous for, San José has become a popular hub among Northern Europeans who have made this part of Ibiza their home. The nearby beaches and easy access to Ibiza Town, its harbour and airport also add to its appeal for international buyers.
Aside from the town of San José, the municipality includes the parishes of Sant Jordi, Sant Agustí and Es Cubells, all of them quiet picturesque villages with attractive churches. The area has become increasingly popular with property buyers due to its beautiful beaches and stunning countryside.
The municipality's coastline is 80km long and boasts some of the most beautiful coves on the island, such as Es Cavallet, Cala Jondal, Cala d'Hort, Cala Carbó, Cala Vadella, Cala Tarida and Cala Conta, as well as remote fishing bays, such as Porroig, Es Xarco, Sa Caleta, Cala Llentrisca and Cala Corral. The coastline is also peppered with cliffs and islets, such as Es Vedrà, Es Vedranell, Sa Conillera, S'Espartà, S'Illa des Bosc and Ses Bledes.
At 475m high, Ibiza's highest woodland, Sa Talaia, is located in the heart of the municipality and boasts some of the island's best views. The area is also home to important archaeological sites such as Sa Caleta's Phoenician village, founded by the first settlers on the island and a World Heritage Site, and Ses Païses de Cala d'Hort, a Punic-Roman settlement.
