El Raval, Barcelona: Location and surroundings of this property

The old town (Ciudad Vieja) consists of four main districts: the Gothic Neighbourhood , Barceloneta, Born and Raval.

The Gothic neighbourhood , which includes the Rambla and Via Laietana, is the most touristy area of Barcelona. When l'Eixample was built in the 1900s, many residents moved out of the Gothic neighbourhood to enjoy a better quality of life, so the area fell into neglect. However, over the last few decades, this neighbourhood has undergone a spectacular regeneration that has seen tourists flood it, the crime rate drop and property values increase.
