Es Mercadal, Balearic Islands: Location and surroundings of this property

This property is located in Es Mercadal, on the road to the exclusive new development of Coves Noves II, in the northeast of the island, close to the Arenal d'en Castell beach, one of the most beautiful on the island with all amenities, the beautiful Port of Addaia (1.5 km) and the Son Parc golf course (1.8 km).

Es Mercadal is the geographical centre of the island, founded during the Reconquista period and whose urban core is concentrated around the church of Sant Martí and the old mill, now converted into a restaurant.

Through its streets of low houses and great aesthetic simplicity, we find a population of rural and traditional origin.

Here you'll find the Cas Sucrer shop, selling the island's quintessential artisanal sweets, craft shops, stores selling local products, and restaurants serving traditional Menorcan cuisine. Also worth a visit is El Aljub, an impressive cistern built during British rule to store rainwater. You can also climb the mysterious El Toro mountain, which may have Arabic origins and means "highest point." At its summit, you'll discover a 14th-century sanctuary and square tower, as well as an exceptional panoramic view of the island. Menorca's flat terrain allows you to observe its entire expanse on a clear day.

Mercadal is the ideal starting point for the island's main water sports centre : Fornells.
