Location

The Ruzafa neighbourhood is one of the oldest in Valencia, dating back to the 8th century. Little by little, many buildings from the beginning of the 20th century have been restored and it has become one of the fashionable neighbourhoods among lovers of bohemian life, artists, designers.

Art galleries abound. There is no shortage of restaurants specializing in all kinds of food, some of them run by prestigious chefs, such as Richard Camarena's Canalla Bistró restaurant or Quique Dacosta's Mercatbar. On the other hand, Ruzafa is a neighborhood deeply rooted in the Fallas festival. Its streets take special care to place an increasingly artistic lighting.

In the centre of the neighbourhood we find the Ruzafa Market with 160 stalls that offer the best of the Valencian orchard and where you can enjoy tapas in one of the many terraces that animate the surroundings of the Market.

The Ruzafa neighbourhood has undergone a great change in recent years thanks to the Central Park project, the first phase of which, equivalent to 40% of the total area, was inaugurated in 2018. The Central Park is a design by the American landscaper Kathryn Gustafson, where light, water and greenery feature particularly. This has undoubtedly been one of the great projects in Valencia in recent years and has given the city an important cultural and economic boost, especially for the surrounding neighbourhoods, an improvement that will be even greater once the project has been completed.
