Banyalbufar is a small town with only 500 inhabitants, located directly south-east of the Tramuntana Mountain range. This area is characterized by its jagged coastline which runs from Racó de s'Algar to Port des Canonge, the surrounding, rocky mountains and the attractive cultivated terraces which cut into the hillsides.

Banyalbufar has always been a traditional farming and fishing town and produces some of the best tomatoes on the island, nowadays, however, it is a place of interest to tourists and various hotels have opened in the area, without spoiling its original charm.

Following the route known as Volta des General, you can enjoy a pleasant walking trip from the centre of Banyalbufar to Port des Canonge, taking in some wonderful historical sights on the way, such as the Verges Tower and the ancient palace of Baronia with its interior courtyard and XVII watchtower. A distinctive part of the island, surrounded by natural beauty and steeped in history.
