Llubi is a very peaceful agricultural town located in the centre of Mallorca, in Es Pla, in the middle of two hills, between which runs the Aumadrá stream. It covers just 34.72 km and has an official population of 2000 inhabitants. This is not a town you will find in any holiday brochure and, as such, has been totally protected from the onslaught of mass tourism. The town and surrounding countryside are known mainly for the production of capers which are sold worldwide and the town itself is a pretty settlement with a few very good examples of traditional Mallorcan architecture. The town is mainly flat and is crowned by the church which sits proudly at its centre, with hills and small mountains as a backdrop to village life. Llubi is a great base for exploring the island's mountains, beaches and countryside and always having an oasis of tranquility to return to at the end of the day. Within the town itself, one can enjoy the weekly market held at Plaça de la carretera on Tuesdays and the honey fair, Fira de la Mel de Llubi, in November.
