Some have even labelled Palma the 'new Barcelona', albeit a smaller version. Indeed the city is undergoing a similar transformation as the Catalan capital went through in recent years. New stylish hotels, fashionable shops, restaurants and bars are appearing and the opening of the Es Baluard Art Museum has helped assert the city as a cultural capital.
