Lucas Fox press coverage August 2013

A look at Lucas Fox press coverage throughout August 2013

In Telegraph Luxury, the new luxury supplement of The Daily Telegraph, Zoe Dare Hall writes about why the super rich are flocking to buy in Barcelona, and features what could ultimately be the city’s highest and most luxurious residential apartment, for sale via Lucas Fox International Properties.

However, in a subsequent feature for The Telegraph Luxury, entitled “Luxury Residences with Postcard Views”, Zoe writes “In the unwinnable game of one-upmanship that is the world of luxury property, it’s not enough to simply have the prime address; you must also boast the ultimate, iconic view.” The article features a luxury property with one of the most spectacular views in Europe, for sale with Lucas Fox.

“Spain’s property market has bottomed out, so bargains can be had, but only buy in the best areas”, advises Cathy Hawker in in the article Still Costing Less on the Costas in  this month’s edition of Homes & Property in the London Evening Standard.

A Place in the Sun reports that foreign buyers are fuelling high-end property market recovery. According to Lucas Fox, buyer confidence in Spanish property is returning, as the fall in prices begins to slow down and investors sense a potential turnaround in the market.

This month, in The Sunday Times feature “Moving On: Pale and interesting”, the publication highlights Welsh-born designer Julien Macdonald’s spectacular all-white penthouse in Sitges, for sale with Lucas Fox. The 645 sq ft penthouse has two very white bedrooms and a terrace with sea views.

Lucas Fox has also been featured in the “Home: Overseas” section of The Sunday Times this month, where Zoe Dare Hall looks at “twice as nice holiday homes”; properties enabling buyers to access the beach and the slopes in equal measure.

A Lucas Fox property is also given a platform in the Sunday Times article Take the long view: Beachfront bargains in Europe. The publication showcases a five-bedroom apartment for sale in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, a pretty town half an hour’s drive from Girona. It boasts three bathrooms and a large terrace overlooking the beach and marina, available for sale with Lucas Fox Costa Brava at 600 thousand Euros.

Sur In English looks ahead as the new residency law announced by the government last year could come into effect this autumn, as it is anticipated that millionaire foreign investors will buy property in exchange for visas.“We hope the new law will have a similar effect in Spain as it has done in Portugal, where the so-called ‘Golden Visa’ scheme similarly targeted high net worth buyers,” explains Alexander Vaughan, co-founder of Lucas Fox.
Marbella and Puerto Banús as well as other affluent areas offering desirable properties with a good potential rental income will benefit from the new residency law,” adds Stephen Lahiri, the Lucas Fox Marbella director.

The Times looks at why Spain’s market is set for revival after increasing signs that the Spanish slump is easing. Figures released last week by Spain’s national statistics office report that GDP fell by 0.1 per cent in the second quarter, the slowest decline in two years, and unemployment has fallen for the first time in two years.

Forbes say that Plans To Grant Investor Residency Could Revive Spain’s Real Estate Market, as the law makes its way through parliament. Experts at Residency in Spain, a joint venture between Lucas Fox and Spanish law firm Ecija, explain that, if the draft law remains unchanged, it will grant qualifying investors a special visa allowing them to stay in Spain for a year (up from the current 90 days), plus a further two-year residency permit, renewable every two years. “From my personal experience, I’d say prices have gone down 20% to 50% and in some areas even more than that, although I think the market partly needed a retrenchment.” Says Lucas Fox co-foundere Alexander Vaughan.

In August, Lucas Fox produced an HD Video of this superb luxury villa for sale in the exclusive SuperMaresme development, on the Maresme Coast, north of Barcelona with breathtaking sea views.
