Ibiza Town or Eivissa, Vila d'Eivissa or simply Vila ("Town") is the island’s capital and most populous city with nearly 50 thousand inhabitants. It is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the whole of Europe and is home to a stunning Spanish cathedral and many fabulous restaurants and chic bars. The Old Town has been awarded historic status by UNESCO.
The town is divided into two main parts: the Old Town, or Dalt Vila ("Upper Town"), located in the little mountain by the sea, and the modern part, called Eixample ("extension").
It is widely known for its nightlife with two of the island’s most luxurious nightclubs, Pacha and El Divino, located in Ibiza Town itself as well as Space just south of the town, near the airport.
