Maresme Area Description
The Costa Maresme or Barcelona Coast is the coastal area to the north of Barcelona city. The area's geography is characterised by its long sandy beaches with the mountains of the Serralda Litoral natural park rising up behind.
The area is less densely populated than some of the other areas near Barcelona and the villages have a more traditional feel.
The area’s close proximity to Barcelona city make it a very desirable place to live or own a second home and because of this Costa Maresme real estate remains an excellent property investment.
Barcelona is recognized as a major economic centre with one of Europe's principal Mediterranean ports, and Barcelona International Airport.
