Maresme Area  Description

The Costa Maresme or Barcelona Coast is the coastal area to the north of Barcelona city. The area's geography is characterised by its long sandy beaches with the mountains of the Serralda Litoral natural park rising up behind.

The area is less densely populated than some of the other areas near Barcelona and the villages have a more traditional feel.
